Premise: The Midnighter is sent back in time to locate and kill his target. He doesn’t quite succeed.
The Midnighter’s mission begins. He’s dropped into the past to take care of business, and we’re treated with some interspersed exposition to let us know why. He gets involved in a bit of a battle, prepares to kill his target, and… apparently time stands still, and he’s under arrest by some sort of time police. Or something.

Review:
Another great issue from Ennis and company. Things just get weirder and weirder, with Midnighter fighting against the French in World War I (Have you figured out who his target is yet? If not, I’m giving you until issue 3 before I spoil it for you - not that many reviewers would give you that courtesy).
I don’t really know what else to say, and I have a headache right now that may be contributing. What do you expect on Christmas Eve?
Ennis keeps up the excellent humor without being over-the-top. There’s enough violence to keep the integrity of the title intact.
Can we talk about how the cover art doesn’t really match what’s going on in the book? I don’t know what that’s about.
Read the book. I recommend it.

[…] Midnighter #3 - In stark contrast, here’s a title where i swear I just put down the last issue. Can’t wait to see where this one’s going. […]
